Before there has been what we call terminological or semantic debate as to what public relations really is. Some groups of individuals view it in negative light, that is, public relations is a form of propaganda, gimmick or sweet talking. When taken in the point of view of politics, it cannot be avoided that a great number of people conceive public relations that way. But in truth PR Companies are indispensable entities that help individuals and various groups to attain their communication goals and polevault their interests which is deemed beneficial to both the government and the party involved. There are times when it is easy to see public relations at work. We can see them at work when we watch the latest controversies affecting the government. We can hear over the radio about the latest move of the administration and its corresponding releases. One author in this field stated that public relations strategies and tactics helped government agencies and private companies send encouraging messages during frenzied hours and days. Public relations has been at the vanguard to re-establish public confidence and a sense of normalcy. This has been proven several times in the past. May examples can be cited in history where public relations play a key role in bringing back society to normalcy after some social and political upheavals.
In the book entitled “Managing Public Relations, educators Todd Hunt and James Grunig described public relations as “the management of communication between an organization and its publics.” This definition aptly illustrates the primary concern by which PR Companies like EMSI are involved. Their purpose is to enable organizations and individuals to attain their social, political, or commercial purpose. The good thing is these companies are a great boon to be with since they make communication to the public easier and a lot faster. It is good to know that we have them in case the need arises.
